Charles Lindbergh Spirit of St. Louis
First solo transatlantic flight and first non-stop fixed-wing aircraft flight between America and mainland Europe
May 20–21, 1927. Charles A. Lindbergh flew his Ryan monoplane named Spirit of St. Louis from Long Island, New York USA to Paris France.
At 07.52 on May 20, 1927 Charles Lindbergh tok the "Spirit of St Louis" down the runway of Roosevelt Field, Long Island USA. After crossing the Atlantic Ocean he landed at Le Bourget airfield in Paris, France.
The distance was 3,600 nautical miles or 6,700 km and the flight had taken 33 ½ hours.
Charles Augustus Lindbergh II was born on 4 February 1902 and passed away on 26 August 1974.
