Schlee & Brock World Attempt

1927-08-27 to 1927-09-16 from Detroit to Detroit, MI, USA but ended in Tokyo, Japan.

William S. Brock, Sr. (1895 – November 13, 1932) was an aviation pioneer. With Edward F. Schlee made the eighth non-stop crossing of the Atlantic Ocean.

Edward F. Schlee flew the Stinson-Detroiter monoplane that he had just sponsored in the Ford Air Reliability Tour. He changed its name from "Miss Wayco" to "Pride of Detroit".

Schlee & Brock departed from Detroit, Michigan via New York to Newfoundland.
They departed Harbor Grace and arrived at Croydon Airport, London England.

They continued their flight across Europe, India and China arriving in Tokyo in 18 days, flying a total of 12,995 miles in 145.5 flying hours. Bad weather forced them to abandon their round- the-world attempt.
Rather than trying to cross the Pacific, they returned to New York by steamer.
